CALL News

New Name:  From now you might notice CALL also being referred to as CALLplus.
In for a penny...:  Sometimes it is hard to put a figure on what buys what in a charity that provides services rather than buying ‘things’ such as medical equipment. However we at CALL believe it is important that you know how your money is used to support people with cancer and other life-limiting illness, their carers and families.

Stockport School Hosts CALL’s First Non-Uniform Day

Queensgate School in Bramhall has become the first school in the county to hold a non-uniform day in aid of CALL, raising over £220.

Thursday 27th January saw CALL’s first ever non-uniform day, which the charity hopes will spread across Greater Manchester to help raise vital funds.

The Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Hazel Lees, attended the non-uniform day to speak to the children and hear about the work that CALL does in the local area.

Karen Mercer, communications and development manager for CALL, says: “We were really looking forward to our first ever non-uniform day and it went very well, the children loved the stickers we got for them! I must thank the staff and pupils at Queensgate School for hosting it.

“The funds raised will go towards the vital work CALL does in Stockport, supporting people in Stockport who have been affected by cancer.”

If you would like a CALL non-uniform day at your school, please contact CALL on 0845 123 23 29 between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday or 7.30-10.30pm on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. Alternatively e-mail fundraising@canceraid.co.uk
