CALL unveils new Stroke Support Service for Trafford
CALL will be caring for even more people this year – with the launch of a brand new Stroke Support service - CALLplus for Trafford with Innovation Funding from Trafford Council. As well as respite care, home visits, befriending and telephone support, we offer vital practical help with chores like shopping and transport to hospital appointments too.
CALL’s dedicated team of volunteers and professional staff are extending the service to provide targeted support for stroke patients and their carers in Trafford and we’d like more people to get involved.
Anyone who thinks they could spare some time out should get in touch and find out more. Full training is provided for all volunteers and as spokeswoman, Karen Mercer, explains, being involved is a highly rewarding experience.
“We’re very pleased to announce that we are going to be able to offer this new service. Living with any life-limiting illness can be difficult for patients and those who care for them, so our support is always appreciated. A stroke can be a devastating experience and is something thousands of Trafford residents find themselves facing every year. Volunteering can offer a fantastic way to get to know those in your local community and give something back, so we hope as many people as possible will get involved.”
